We promise you will have a delightful time learning how to nurture and support the people you care about. In this fun and hands-on experience, you will learn simple therapeutic massage techniques that blend Swedish Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, and gentle yoga practices.

What You Will Learn
In this workshop, we will explore the importance of mindfulness—not only while giving massage to your partner or friend, but also in how you care for your own body and energy.
We will briefly cover proper body mechanics and posture, including:
How to position and support your body while working on the floor
Simple and effective massage stances
Guided meditation to help you stay present and grounded
You will also learn:
Easy and effective Swedish massage techniques
Foundational Thai Yoga Massage movements
Gentle yoga poses and yogic breathing practices
Important safety guidelines for both giver and receiver
What to Bring
We will be working on the floor, so please bring a thick mat to work on. An egg-crate mattress topper works wonderfully as well.

Yoga for Beginners -- Welcome to Your Yoga Journey
In many yoga classes, especially those with large groups and mixed experience levels, essential elements of the practice are often overlooked. This can make it challenging for instructors to address key aspects such as proper breathing (which differs from regular breathing), body alignment, Drishti (focused gaze), and bandhas (the engagement or "locking" of specific energy centers in the body). Without these foundational components, a yoga practice remains incomplete.
Yoga for beginners— In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of yoga. While it is primarily designed for those new to yoga, it can also benefit anyone seeking a refresher on the basics.
Understanding the fundamentals is essential for building a strong foundation in your yoga practice. This course includes a brief introduction to the history of yoga and places a strong emphasis on yoga breathing. Students will learn how coordinating breath with movement (asana) is key to developing a safe, effective, and enriching yoga practice.
You will learn the basic Three-Part Breath (Dirga Pranayama), Ujjayi breathing and how to synchronize this specific breathing technique with yoga movements—both when transitioning in and out of poses and while holding them. This coordination of breath and movement is known as Vinyāsa. Vinyāsa links one pose to the next in a flowing sequence, and without proper breath control, it becomes nearly impossible to practice Vinyāsa—or any yoga asana—effectively.
Although recommended textbooks are available for this course (you can purchase these at our studio or online), you will also receive handouts containing comprehensive information to support your learning.
